A universal decoder for interview questions: every question tests Knowledge, Skills, or Behaviour. Covers identifying which one is really being tested, and handling unexpected questions live.
Most interview advice tells you to predict the questions. It is terrible advice, because you cannot, and the moment something unexpected lands your rehearsed answer is worthless. This video takes the opposite approach. Every question an interviewer asks, however it is dressed up, is really testing one of three things: your knowledge, your skills, or your behaviour. Learn to spot which one you are being asked, and you stop being ambushed.
You will watch David and Gaby answer the same questions, and you will see exactly where one of them loses the room. It is not about confidence or polish, and Gaby is not the more talented candidate. She simply prepared material strong enough to be flexed into whatever came at her, including the curveball at the end that neither of them saw coming. You will also learn what to do when your mind goes completely blank, which happens to everybody.
