Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Recruit Rocket website and platform. We've written it in plain English — because privacy matters, and we think you should actually be able to read and understand this.

1. Who we are

Recruit Rocket is operated by Global Career and Talent Development Ltd (company number 16936930), registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 1 Queen’s Park Road, Handbridge, Chester, Cheshire, CH4 7AD.

We are registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number [XXXXXX].

If you have any questions about how we handle your data, or want to exercise your rights, you can contact us at:
Email: privacy@recruitrocket.co

Post: Global Career and Talent Development Ltd, 1 Queen’s Park Road, Handbridge, Chester, Cheshire, CH4 7AD

You also have the right to complain to the ICO at www.ico.org.uk — though we’d always prefer you come to us first so we can try to sort things out.

2. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy covers the personal data we collect and use when you:

  • Visit the Recruit Rocket website.
  • Create an employer or recruiter account.
  • Use the platform to post jobs, manage applications, or access our tools.
  • Contact us by email, phone, or any other means.

This policy applies to employers and recruiters. It does not cover how we handle candidate data — that’s covered in our separate Candidate Privacy Notice, which sits on the main platform.

This website is not intended for use by children, and we don’t knowingly collect data relating to anyone under 18.

3. The data we collect

When you use Recruit Rocket, we may collect the following types of data:

Type of data

What this includes

Identity data

Your name, job title, and company name.

Contact data

Email address, phone number, and business address.

Account data

Your username, password, preferences, and account settings.

Financial data

Transaction data

Details of payments made and services used.

Communications data

Any messages, emails, or other correspondence you send us.

Marketing preferences

Whether you'd like to hear from us, and in what format.

We also collect aggregated, anonymised data (for example, how many users viewed a particular feature). This can’t be used to identify you, so it’s not personal data.

We don’t collect any special category data — such as health information, ethnicity, or political views — and we don’t ask for it.

4. How we collect your data

Most of the data we collect comes directly from you — when you sign up, use the platform, or contact us. We also collect some data automatically as you use the site.

Direct interactions
You provide data when you create an account, use the platform to post jobs or manage applications, contact us with a question, or sign up for updates.

Automated collection
When you use our website, we automatically collect technical data via cookies, server logs, and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

Third parties
We may also receive data from analytics providers (such as Google Analytics), payment processors, and our hosting and infrastructure providers.

5. How we use your data

6. Marketing

We’ll only send you marketing emails if you’ve opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us at privacy@recruitrocket.co.

We won’t share your data with third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

7. Who we share your data with

We don’t sell your data. We share it only where necessary:

  • Technology and hosting providers who help us run the platform (acting under our instruction).
  • Payment processors who handle billing securely on our behalf.
  • Analytics providers who help us understand how the platform is used.
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, and insurers, where required.
  • Regulators or law enforcement where we’re legally required to share information.
  • A buyer or successor organisation if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case your data would be handled in the same way as described in this policy.

All third parties who access your data are required to handle it securely and only for the purposes we specify.

8. International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK. Where your data is transferred internationally, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK.

If you’d like more detail on how we protect your data in international transfers, just get in touch.

9. How long we keep your data

We don’t keep your data longer than necessary. In practice:

  • Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case of any queries or disputes.
  • Billing and transaction records are kept for 7 years to meet our legal and tax obligations.
  • Communications are kept for as long as they’re needed for the purpose they were collected.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.

10. Keeping your data safe

We take security seriously. Your data is stored on secure servers, and we use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

Your account is protected by a password — please keep it secure and don’t share it with others.

If we ever experience a data breach that affects your rights, we’ll notify you and the ICO as required by law (within 72 hours where applicable).

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

Your right

What it means

Access

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. We'll respond within one month.

Correction

If any data we hold about you is wrong or incomplete, you can ask us to correct it.

Erasure

In certain circumstances, you can ask us to delete your data. We'll let you know if there's a legal reason we need to keep it.

Restriction

You can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain situations — for example, while a dispute is resolved.

Portability

Where we process your data based on consent or a contract, you can ask us to provide it in a machine-readable format.

Object

You can object to us processing your data for direct marketing, or where we're relying on legitimate interests.

Withdraw consent

Where we rely on your consent to process data, you can withdraw it at any time. This doesn't affect anything we've done before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@recruitrocket.co. We may need to verify your identity before we can respond. We aim to respond within one month.

12. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to help it work properly, understand how it’s being used, and improve the experience for users. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time — see our Cookie Policy for full details.

13. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy doesn’t apply to them. We recommend reading the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law or the way we operate. The latest version will always be available on our website, and the date at the top of this page will tell you when it was last updated.

If we make any significant changes, we’ll let you know — by email or through a notice on the platform.
